I used this recipe for my get-go roast and have used it religiously since. My only advice would be to sentinel your cooking time. My roasts have always been done between five-6 hours (on low) and they come out very tender. Overall, a very like shooting fish in a barrel and tasteful recipe.

I don't know what some of these people are talking about - this was a corking roast! You may desire to add together some more than spices, but that'due south not rocket science. I added a litte bit of garlic, a sprinkle of garlic salt, basis pepper and actress onion flakes. My young man and I loved it - information technology was a nice chocolate-brown colour, and the aroma filled the house when I came home. I will be using this recipe over and over.

This is good made as directed, but I felt it needed a trivial more than flavor / complexity. I use a larger roast (5 lbs) rubbed with salt, pepper, garlic, dredged in flour (to thicken the gravy later) and seared in olive oil. For the liquid... beef broth, and I add a few big splashes of red wine (about half a cup). As well put in onion, fresh minced garlic, a couple of rosemary sprigs and a tsp of coriander seeds. Cooked carrots with the roast, but potatoes separately (roasted potatoes, as I don't like everything to taste the same or to exist too mushy.) YUMMO!
02/13/2003
This has to be the easiest fashion to make pot roast. I volition brownish my meat before placing in the crock pot and the deglaze the pan with the beef goop. After I take all the meat and vegetables out I will thicken the gravy with a lilliputian corn starch and h2o. Information technology is equally as skillful every bit a roast cooked in the oven.

Wow harsh review, I think in that location may have been something wrong with your cooker or something because I cant imagine the veggies beingness raw after hours and hours of slow cooking, merely hope y'all find the recipe your looking for! Equally far as my experience with the recipe, I tweaked information technology a trivial for my own taste. I used broth instead of buillion and water, and I used a lot of it because I love the soupy gravy. I added the potatoes in half way through cooking so they wouldnt exist mush, they were perfect! Added probably more than veggies than recommended and some extra seasoning (garlic, tonys). Simply overall I but loved it! thanks for the recipe!

This was my first pot roast e'er and I was pretty apprehensive... but it turned out great! I prepared it according to the directions with the following modifications: I sliced three carrots instead of using baby carrots, replaced the onion with a package of dry onion soup mix, and used 3/4 cup of water instead of 1/2 cup. I cooked information technology on depression for a picayune over 8 hours. The meat was so tender and and then total of flavor. Plus, information technology passed the ultimate examination: my hubby loved it and even had seconds! Next time I'm going to add a can of cream of mushroom soup to make a thicker gravy. Dandy recipe!

As newlyweds and new to cooking this was THE EASIEST and the best recipe......i think tonite was the first time nosotros ate a real meal before 7PM and washed by 8!!! Using the Communication from the previous reviews i added the xtra one/4 cup of water, bay leaf, and also browned it before putting in the crock......Information technology turned out very nicely and my inlaws idea it was delicious!!! I made gravy from the crock pot juices by adding flour, common salt, pepper and some onion pulverisation all to gustation.........YUM!!!!

This was an incredible recipe. It pulled apart, the vegetables were not mushy and the gravy was so good. My boyfriend ate the baby carrots (he hates carrots) and even wanted to take it to work the next day! Here is what I did the night earlier...I cut the potatoes, onions and used baby carrots. I heavily seasoned them with garlic salt, seasoning salt, pepper and Lipton onion soup mix and put it at the bottom of my crock pot. (I take a removable dish.) I seasoned the outside of the roast with garlic salt, seasoning salt and pepper until information technology was completely covered with seasoning and browned the exterior with some butter. I dissolved the 3 beef boullion cubes with one cup of boiling water and added it to the acme of the veggies and so I put the roast on top of that and covered it with the superlative. I stuck the whole affair in the frig to marinate over night. The next morning I just took information technology out of the frig, plop the dish in and turn on the crock pot for 8 hours on low. FANTASTIC..my bestfriend and my boyfriend were raving about it! I'grand making it for Thanksgiving in addition to the turkey. :)

From someone (me) who's recipes normally turn out terrible, this was TRULY the easiest, best tasting roast I accept always made!! I followed the suggestions of others, and flavored it with additional spices to fit our tastes and added some additional water, and information technology was simply wonderful!!
08/20/2002
If you lot're looking for fast and piece of cake this is the recipe for y'all! I recommend adding more spices if you want more flavor, overall proficient recipe.
02/09/2011
This was very easy, and was exactly what I was looking for... I over cooked mine and so it was a fiddling dry and put too much beef bullion in so it was a scrap salty, but if I wasn't contending with that it would definitely be four stars! Adding to my recipe box now...
01/15/2010
This is a archetype Crock Pot - Pot Roast recipe. If you lot read the instructions with a Crock Pot, it always says to put the vegetables on the bottom - they take the longest to cook. I have NEVER browned my roast before cooking. I would venture to gauge that if your roast did not turn out with this recipe - it had more to do with the grade of meat yous used than the recipe. One other hint - ever use a recipe as a base - and then add the seasonings that you and your family unit relish.
01/02/2011
Suprisingly very practiced. I added 2 c water, 1/iv c cherry cooking wine, 1 T onion powder, 1 T minced garlic, 1/4 tsp garlic pepper, one/two tsp garlic and herb grill mate. Plus, I used vi potatoes and nearly 2 c carrots.
12/07/2002
Yummy! I cut my roast in half simply in case it wasn't a practiced recipe and I was so pitiful, because I wished I had cooked the whole matter! My son loved information technology and had seconds. I added more water than chosen for and added seasonings that I relish. I also (at the end) added some cornstarch to thicken the juice into gravy. It was very delicious.
12/28/2010
I decided to make a pot roast for Christmas dinner, so I went searching for irksome cooker recipes. Nigh everything I came beyond called for dry onion soup mix which I did not have. Then I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. It came out perfect!! I didn't accept any celery and used regular carrots instead of baby, merely everything else was the same. I wouldn't change a thing about this recipe. I cooked my roast on high for 5 hours and information technology came out super tender and the taste was spectacular. I will only be making my roast this way from now on.
10/16/2007
I absolutely LOVED this recipe! I used Beef Eye of Circular Roast and left the celery whole (that fashion I could remove information technology before serving since some of my guests don't like the texture). The scent filled our kitchen and was pleasing to anybody! It will definitely be used again and again!!
x/24/2008
a keen, easy style to make pot roast. This is how I make my roasts every fourth dimension. If you tin can, don't put the potatoes in until halfway through the cooking fourth dimension. If you leave them in the entire time, they'll turn to mush.
11/ten/2007
Gets my highest vote for ease and yum cistron. I love garlic & added quite a bit. I cooked this for approx 10 hours on low. Put it in the fridge overnight. I recall things cooked in the crock-pot gustation better warmed upwardly the adjacent day. It was delish. Thanks!
11/xxx/2006
This is how my mom used to do it and I do honey this recipe. I accept tweaked it over the years, I add a packet of Lipton Onion soup mix, 2 cups of reddish vino and three cloves of garlic.
02/06/2011
This was by far the best pot roast I've ever made, and it was quite easy to practice. Much ameliorate than anything my mother e'er made. I made 1 change, though, and I HIGHLY recommend it. My wife doesn't like celery, so in lieu of that, I used a large stalk & root of fennel. The results were spectacular. The texture remains somewhat shut to celery, merely it infuses the whole dish with a light anise flavor. Great dish, easy to make... don't forget the fennel.
11/12/2007
Great recipe!! My husband loved so did I. I used two cubes, 1 packaged dry onion soup, potatoes, carrots and onions. I put about 1-ane/12 cups of h2o. The meat was melting and it felt I was cutting butter. I wasn't fifty-fifty able to get it out of the crockpot to cut because information technology was falling apart. Perfect. Thank you so much!!
01/xiii/2008
i followed directions down to the t, but it turned out and so dry i couldnt even eat a little test slice. i dont know where i went wrong
01/05/2011
Nosotros did not like this roast at all. I put in all my ingredients as the recipe says then put in the ane/2 cup of h2o. I knew every bit soon as I poured it in that information technology wasn't going to be enough liquid but I let it go anyways, trusting everyone elses reviews. I was and then disappointed when I got home and found my roast notwithstanding sitting on top of the potatoes, not liquid around it. I concluded up adding 3 cups of water and iii more bullion cubes, just for some "juice". I will not be making this again. :(
01/23/2008
I love this pot roast! My husband thinks its dandy too
08/01/2008
I did this terminal night, july 31st 2008. It was the easiest and best I've had. I just had surgery three days ago. I needed something that wouldn't take alot of my time.I am all the same recouping. WOW!!!! It was easy for me to exercise, information technology was aroma i enjoyed all day long, and the family unit loved it! what better manner to still cook(cuz i wanted to) and not be over worked as I heal! The only difference was I as well added beef broth and garlic spices instead of the water. Otherwise YUM YUM YUM!!!! Give thanks YOU
12/21/2010
Very good. I put in potatoes, carrots and celery and information technology turned out very well. I did take to cook mine almost half dozen hours on high. Depends on your crock pot
01/11/2011
Kickoff pot roast that I've tasted in years that was this delicious! I took the communication about the wine and the broth rather than bouillon. All loved it:)
07/xv/2011
I use beef broth and fresh green beans instead of celery. Even with different cuts of roast, it e'er turns out hearty and satisfying, whether we swallow it with gravy or in a pot pie. Very easy, nutritious meal. I like to add salt, pepper, and garlic pulverization to my roast and some worcestshire sauce to the broth/water.
11/02/2010
I added 1/2 cup cerise wine and beef broth instead of the water. As well added a bay leaf and browned the roast before I put it in the crock pot. Added peas last hr of cooking because we honey peas! Enjoy.
09/07/2002
Tasteless. Brothy. At that place must exist pot roast ameliorate than this.
02/twenty/2007
Was a skillful recipe. Only I added the 3 cloves of garlic, used the Lipton Onion Soup mix instead of the bullion. Also added the h2o & a cup or two of ruddy wine. Added mushrooms, celery, & carrots in the last couple of hours. Cooked one hr on high & virtually 5.five on low.
01/ten/2016
This is basically the recipe I've used for years and you can't beat it. For those of y'all thinking there should be more than season endeavour adding 1/2 to 1 packet of Lipton Onion Soup mix. I usually utilise beefiness broth instead of bouillon cubes. The juices make an excellent gravy. What really bothers me on these roast beefiness recipes is information technology is rarely mentioned which cut of beefiness is used. I stick with a chuck roast as I can depend on it being fall apart tender and having a rich season. I've never had much luck with rump roasts (not sure what they phone call them today) and don't know how that would work in a recipe like this even though it'south in slow cooker.
10/17/2009
I only read all the reviews for this recipe. The people who gave it a low rating must not know how to tweak a recipe. For the potatoes I used small reddish ones cut in one-half. I don't use bullion cubes, I use "Herb Ox" Instant bullion powder - 1 tsp per cup of water. Earlier I brown the meat I dredge it in flour mixed with rosemary, bounding main table salt, pepper and granulated garlic - that slowly thickens as it cooks to brand the gravy. Again the amounts of the spices depends on your taste buds. Lastly, I cook it one hour on high and 6 - 8 hours on low testing the veggies after six hours. For an added kick put a 12 oz canteen of "Killian'southward Irish Red" beer in after iv hours on low. The beer has enough of time to loose the booze that style but you still have the season of the Killian's. This recipe is a great 1 information technology all comes downwardly to personal preference and gustatory modality buds.
03/01/2009
This was really good. I put the veggies on top of the meat considering I like the meat to be falling apart tender. I made it both ways (veggies on superlative and bottom of meat) and I adopt veggies on top.
01/20/2011
My pot roast turned out drier than expected. I used the iii/four c. of water that was suggested in the reviews, but information technology was still dry. I call back function of the trouble is that I set the meat on height of the veg like information technology said to do, and that prevented the meat from being immersed in the liquid. Side by side time I will set up the meat in the pot and put the veg around it, and I likewise won't put the potatoes in until a few hours into cooking b/c they were totally obliterated. I added a small amount of dry onion soup mix as suggested besides. The taste was great, it was just besides dry out.
03/24/2005
I used this recipe for my offset pot-roast always, and my husband and friends loved it so much I have to melt it at lease one time a week now!
01/26/2011
Piece of cake and Astonishing! I didn't add the potatoes (fabricated mashed potatoes instead), added 2 bay leaves, a sprinkle of garlic powder, and upped the h2o to 1 cup. Once finished cooking, I used the cooking liquid to make gravy. Adding this to the weekly rotation!
xi/10/2002
This is an like shooting fish in a barrel, standard roast beef recipe. You should spice it up still you want. One note for me, though, I cook this on low for 12 hours and do non need to add additional liquid and information technology turns out tender and perfect.
05/27/2010
I did everything as instructed.. I am lamentable only this is not expert at all. I gave it one star considering the meat and vegetables were tender but the boullion gustatory modality was overwhelming and there is no real substanance to the gravy.. just watery, fatty.
07/13/2008
This was proficient for my first roast. Information technology ended up very tender and pulled apart easily. I will add the veggies later next fourth dimension as they ended up being mush and add some more than spices as well. This recipe is excellent to try over again and once again until you accept it tweaked to your liking! I am giving this recipe a solid 4 stars for coming out moist and tender but not 5 stars as the veggies came out way overcooked and it was a little on the bland side spice wise. A peachy basic roast recipe!
09/03/2010
This really is the easiest thing I've always fabricated and one of the best. I used low sodium beefiness broth instead of bouillon, added some minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce for flavor and it was wonderful.
ten/27/2006
This was a groovy dinner to come home to tonight, information technology's cold and rainy out. The meat came out very tender and very flavorful. I've been using the McCormick seasoning for pot roasts, and those are pretty adept simply wanted to try something unlike and didn't desire to worry virtually preservitives or additives in seasonings. Thank you for the great recipe!
03/04/2005
The flavour was skilful but my roast came out very dry. I call back the roast should be browned first, putting it in the crock pot raw made the veggies on the bottom expect gray and almost unappetizing. And so having the beef cubes on top made dark spots on the roast. Information technology tasted better than it looked. I recall I volition keep looking for a crock pot roast recipe.
11/14/2011
I am not sure what happened, but I followed it to the T and it was banal and dry. This is the offset highly rated recipe from this site that did not live up to the reviews. I have a new crock pot, and then that wasn't the issue. Won't make once more.
02/12/2008
Very Good! I used less onion, added garlic pulverisation and used 1 cup of water instead of 1/2cup. This was my showtime pot roast so I was actually nervous...merely it turned out not bad. My hubby and I loved it!
12/05/2000
I browned the roast start and added nigh i/4 cup more water in the crockpot. The roast was tender and juicy. It tasted even better the next day.
06/21/2000
Cook this roast on high for at least 6 hours, cooking information technology on low dries the meat out quite a bit. Nosotros didn't detect it bland at all. I would have to try the suggestion of browning it first for a more than asthetic entreatment.
01/23/2004
The roast was a little dry out. I put the meat on the bottom and it was better.
04/19/2010
Delicious!
04/04/2008
This recipe turned out great! I made a few small adjustments to information technology such as; i used beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, and dry onion soup mix. This was my first time making pot roast ever & it worked out well!!
11/06/2010
I made my first pot roast yesterday and decided to add together a heaping TBSP of horseradish mustard AND some dill weed. OMG! It turned out so practiced! I seared the meat, then put it aside. I so started the broth and vegies on the stove in a dutch oven and every bit before long as information technology was simmering, I put the roast in and shoved it to the lesser. Cooked in the oven for 2 hours at 350, then ane 60 minutes at 250...YUM!!!
eleven/11/2001
This pot roast merely wasn't that great. The roast was done far earlier than expected and before the vegetables were ready. The laying of bullion cubes on the roast left areas with heavy seasoning and some with trivial. The roast itself was very dry. If I were to apply this recipe again, I would start the vegetables before, and rub a light coating of beef bullion all over the roast and then add an hour afterwards the vegetables were started.
01/11/2004
Very basic pot roast recipe. Having read the other reviews that said "banal," starting time I rubbed the meat with salt, pepper, and thyme. I also added garlic, sugar, worcestershire sauce forth with veggies and seasonings. Finally I thickened the gravy with corn starch. Using the good quality of meat, this recipe got skilful reviews from my family.
09/xx/2003
I have unremarkably ruined roast beef, thus take non tried very many roast recipes. This was very easy and was really tender and tasty. My married man actually liked this. I had some left over onion soup mix already mixed with water in the fridge then used that and used only two boullion cubes. I strained the stale onions from the soup mix and used an onion as per the recipe. I as well sprinkled a niggling majoram over the meat. I used more water equally others have suggested (trivial more than a loving cup including liquid from soup mix) and had lots of succulent gravy. Adjacent time I will try using a little corn starch to thicken it.
11/15/2009
Great recipe! I used a rib roast and here's how I tweaked it: I added a garlic and rosemary rub, a bay foliage, and used beefiness broth instead of cubes. From my experience with my crockpot, I always utilize yellow flesh potatoes and cut whatever veggies into LARGE chunks (double or triple the size that I utilize when boiling or roasting). This keeps the veggies from getting besides mushy subsequently 6 hours of cooking. I cooked on low for 6 hours and everything turned out good, only adjacent time I'll check it after v.5 hours because the roast seemed a tiny fleck over done.
11/xv/2011
Very good. I placed veggies on top of roast. Added more than h2o than called for, and used flour to turn into a gravy. I too placed a bay leaf into crock pot while cooking. Thought perchance it needed a trivial more than flavor, merely overrall very tasty. I will brand this again.
03/16/2011
Very like shooting fish in a barrel just standard fair. Adding garlic and cherry-red wine as suggested by other reviewers is definitely recommended. I also added a few splashes of depression sodium soy sauce which enhances the color as well as flavour.
01/29/2011
Super easy, just I plant that all of the ingredients wouldn't actually fit in my crock pot. Then, I had to take several large spoonfuls of the potatoes and carrots out to fit in all the meat. I'm not a huge red meat fan, so I don't recall I would make this all the time. But for a pot roast, it was pretty good.
02/12/2001
If you have the time this receipe is ever better if you brown the meat first and add some more seasoning, like a bay leaf.
02/02/2003
This was an amazing recipe! I accept butchered many-a-roast, but this one was and then unproblematic, and turned out to be the best I have had yet! I also stabed random holes in the meat before cooking, and filled them with garlic. Thank you for sharing this recipe! My whole family thanks you! :o)
08/14/2004
I added a packet of Lipton Onion Soup Mix to the one/2 loving cup of water and turned the meat frequently. It added peachy season. I omitted the celery(hate it with roast) and too the boullion (who needs it with the Lipton Onion Soup Mix?). Used red bliss potatoes. Easy. Good. Pretty standard fashion to make roast in a crock pot.
09/10/2007
This was definitely easy. I fabricated the post-obit modifications co-ordinate to what I had on hand: two lbs roast, 3 carrots, 1 celery stick & 4 potatoes. I let mine melt for 4 hours, but it was quite dry out. This was my first roast, and so I was leery of calling it done early; merely I think it was done later 3 1/ii hours.
01/27/2008
Very Easy to brand!! It had good flavors but I also added garlic, pepper, salt, and a piddling blood-red vino. I used ii cups of water and this helped keep the meat tender. This is my first time making it in the crock pot, then I changed the cooking times a little. I just watched it and took it out at near half dozen hours on low and cooking the last hour on high. It was very easy and yummy!
01/04/2009
This recipe is very like shooting fish in a barrel and very good. I did not employ celery - I didn't have any. I added salt and pepper, and used liquid bouillon concentrate instead of cubes, considering that's what I had on hand. I cooked in on high and information technology was done in less than iv hours. This is the best manner to cook a roast.
09/10/2008
Wonderful! Elementary! My business firm smells amazing! Just added a fleck more than water and used virtually iii.five lbs eye of circular beef and followed exact recipe....YUM....volition be making once again and again.
ten/26/2010
This was my 1st pot roast and it was fabulous! My husband was completely impressed! I followed the recipe almost exactly, simply I seared the beef (calculation common salt & pepper) earlier I put it in the crock pot and I added mushrooms and smashed whole clove garlic. Then easy!
10/18/2010
Very good an easy. We used 2 cans of beef broth instead of the burgoo and h2o and added many garlic cloves. Also, add more veggies if yous similar them.
01/x/2002
Although this recipe was quick, easy, and kid friendly, information technology turned out awful! The main reason was that information technology was bland. Everything just tasted similar beef broth, with non much other flavor. Yuck!
12/31/2001
I like this recipe because it's simple, yet produces a succulent consummate meal. That's the all-time I expect from a recipe!
06/29/2010
My fellow gave this a 5, but I'm giving it a 4 since I felt like something was lacking, regarding flavor. Also, the pot roast was a footling dry, and then I feel similar at that place should have been more than h2o in the recipe.
02/01/2003
Very easy!! very skillful!!!
03/19/2010
gonna make this tonight..I'll tell ya how it goes
11/09/2008
Excellent. I followed directions exactly until I added 15 crushed ginger snaps an 60 minutes earlier it was done. It thickens the gravy and tastes awesome.
01/31/2005
loved the recipe but instead of h2o and beef boullion i simply added a tin can of beefiness broth.
02/12/2002
This was delicious and easy. The roast just melts in your mouth.
12/08/2009
Good Recipe, If you add iii/4 of a can of coca cola it is a great Recipe. Except for the yellow corn. no where does it say open up can and put in shallow pan on low rut. I don't get the corn thing. The coca cola trick is from grandma Bessie. She fabricated excellent pot Roast.
11/29/2008
The reason I gave this 4 stars is b/c I had to add A LOT of seasoning to get information technology to taste how I wanted. I did fresh rosemary, common salt, flavor table salt, pepper and about 1/four loving cup lea and perrins. Next time I would also sear it first to lock the juices in. It got a trivial dry at seven hours.
08/13/2008
This was and then easy and so good. I made this on my lunch break and information technology was ready to eat when I got home! I used 1 cup beef broth instead of the water. I as well rubbed some salt, pepper, garlic salt, and onion powder into the roast before cooking also equally sprinkling over the potatos.
07/26/2002
Information technology really is easy.
08/05/2007
Really adept! I added 5-6 cloves of garlic and I seared the roast and deglazed the pan before putting in the ho-hum cooker. It came out actually tender and the vegetable's tasted wonderful.
12/17/2006
This was wonderful! I did go out the clery whole, then I could have the flavour so remove it when serving(my family doesn't like cerely) or so they think. I practise that quite oftentimes. They don't mind the taste, merely the texture. Anyway, thanks for this recipe.
02/xiii/2010
Very easy to brand, I used garlic powder, italian seasoning table salt and pepper and it was perfect..also yous should use i cup of h2o. Even with a three pound chuck roast it needed more water than a half cup. Very piece of cake..very good. will brand again.,
07/13/2003
Definately easy! I fabricated this when nosotros had some friends over for dinner and information technology turned out bully. I did put as well many potatoes in it and I added extra carrots but information technology was succulent. I should accept added more h2o for the extra veggies and so I could have made gravy simply information technology was yet fantastic!
12/27/2001
Delicious and very easy pot roast. Tastes wonderful!
09/23/2002
I love a simple receipe, and this one is unproblematic!
01/24/2011
Splendid and easy. Used boosted spices/flavorings and liquid every bit suggested by other reviewers.
03/20/2014
This is a terrific, easy-to-do recipe for pot roast. I dearest the simplicity, particularly for my college-historic period daughters and parents who are rushing out the door to work in the forenoon. While I appreciate the many "reviews" of the recipe, in fact virtually folks are completely rewriting the recipe. One of the "most helpful critical reviews" adds ix additional ingredients! That's non a review, that'southward another recipe altogether! Submit it as such, please!
09/xxx/2008
Turned out great, I seared the roast and added a lilliputian minced garlic and more h2o. Adjacent fourth dimension I will try the beef broth instead.
09/15/2015
I inverse the water to root beer. Gave it a nice sweet flavor. Super tender!!
10/11/2010
My outset time making a pot roast & it was very good! My 7 year one-time even liked the meat & he'southward not a big meat eater. I did make a couple adjustments based on reviews....I did a rub of Montreal steak seasoning, seared it three-5 minutes on each side, & added some minced garlic, salt & pepper to the veggies. I used a 3 pound arm roast & it only took 5 hours on depression. Seems like my crock pot never takes as long as recipes say though....good thing I was watching information technology! Highly recommend this recipe!
12/22/2009
Overall, it'due south a very good tasting roast...especially being and so piece of cake to prepare! I gave it 4 out of five stars because information technology really was lacking spices (in improver to the bouillon, I as well used garlic powder, bay leaves, whole peppercorns, vegeta, and rubbed on a little bit of Mrs. Nuance garlic & herbs sprinkle) and also because I think it needs nearly four times as much h2o as stated..Mine came out a little dry, but I arraign myself for not watching it often plenty (my kickoff time using my mother's ho-hum-cooker. I guess hers cooks faster).
06/09/2008
This is the best pot roast I've ever eaten! Here are the changes I made: I omitted the potatoes and used two roasts increasing the boullion cubes to 5, increased the water to 1 loving cup, sprinkled a bit of seasoning table salt over both roasts and spread one 1/2 tblsp of A1 steak sauce over the peak roast. This is definitely a recipe I will make fourth dimension and time over again!
01/10/2016
Certainly an easy recipe. After reading reviews about cooking time and seasoning I take a few comments. Endeavor browning the roast first in a hot pan with a niggling oil. And so season with salt and pepper. You can also add garlic and other herbs you lot like. I adopt to use tyme. If yous similar more salt and seasoning, I add together an onion soup mix poured over the roast. The bigger your roast, the more seasoning information technology needs. Finally on the cooking time, the longer it cooks the more it will pull apart and shred. If you lot prefer to slice it, yous tin can remove it when nevertheless firm to touch. Nosotros always permit ours cook slowly and for a long fourth dimension. Pull it apart and lightly chop. And so back in crock pot with all the veggies and juices. Thank you and proficient luck!

This truly is the "easiest pot roast ever!" I've done it several times now and it comes out perfectly. I've used ii cups of h2o though instead of 1/2 cup; it just didn't seem like enough. I also added lots of bay leaves on top of the roast. It was first-class! What a great recipe for someone's first pot roast!

Very like shooting fish in a barrel, and tasty recipe! Although, instead of beef bullion cubes, I used a package of onion soup mix. Turned out very yummy and tender!
